Hi, I'm Meghan
Compassionate therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, and life's transitions in Northern Virginia
Feeling overwhelmed by all the therapist profiles out there? Trust me, I get it. It's like trying to pick a Netflix show—you just want to make the right choice. Well, I'm here to make that choice a little easier.
Whatever you're going through—whether it's anxiety, depression, career concerns, people-pleasing, hormonal struggles, relationship challenges, trauma, or just that general “why is everything so much right now?” feeling—I've got your back. And honestly, whatever brings you here is totally normal.
I believe that support is one of the most important aspects of life. It makes our celebrations feel that much more meaningful and memorable, and it makes our challenging times feel possible.
With support, we can feel more fulfilled, empowered, confident, and connected. As human beings, we were meant to connect with one another, and receive and give support. At times you may feel like you need an extra layer of support from a professional, which is a wonderful benefit of therapy.
I promise that whatever brings you here today, it's totally normal.
I have experienced wonderful self-awareness and an increased quality of life with therapy throughout my life, and it's what has ignited a passion within me to be that person for others. To me, there is no better work than to guide ourselves and others to a truly satisfying quality of life; it's what we all desire after all.
When we feel better, we do better, and for that I am proud of the positive ripple effect therapy can have on the world.
I work with adults navigating life's challenges, helping them find clarity, healing, and growth.
Including high-functioning anxiety, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, and that constant feeling of overwhelm.
When life feels heavy, motivation is gone, and you're just going through the motions—I'm here to help you find your way back.
Specialized support for hormonal struggles, fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, and the emotional rollercoaster of new parenthood.
Navigating difficulties in romantic relationships, family dynamics, friendships, and learning to set healthy boundaries.
Healing from past wounds, processing difficult experiences, and learning to feel safe in your body and your life again.
Feeling stuck professionally? Let's explore your values, strengths, and what fulfillment actually looks like for you.
Support for managing attention challenges, building systems that work for your brain, and embracing your unique wiring.
Compassionate support through loss—whether it's a person, a relationship, a dream, or a version of yourself you're mourning.
Major changes—moves, career shifts, relationship changes, becoming a parent—can shake our foundation. Let's navigate it together.
During therapy, I will work with you from a person-centered approach, meaning that I focus on your needs as we collaborate to achieve your desired goals. Think of me as a guide, but ultimately, you are the decision-maker.
I take a holistic approach to healing and create a non-judgmental space so that you can feel safe and heard. It can feel vulnerable opening up at first, so we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
A practice aimed at taking control of our thoughts to achieve different actions and outcomes. It's a helpful practice that you get to take with you even after therapy to apply throughout your life.
A compassionate approach that helps you understand and heal the different “parts” of yourself, bringing harmony to your internal world.
Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy focuses on transforming difficult emotions and fostering healing through corrective emotional experiences.
Bringing awareness and insight into areas of our past that may be affecting our present, creating opportunities for long-term healing and more secure relationships.
Everyone is unique, therefore, there is no “one size fits all” approach. Along the way, I'll apply solution-focused approaches and highlight the strengths you already possess, because at times we can forget these—but they are important.
“Meghan created a space where I always felt safe to think, feel, and speak freely. She listened deeply, helped me understand the roots of what I was feeling, and offered tools to help me get where I wanted to be. Our sessions shifted week to week — some days we unpacked deeper past experiences, and other days we focused on practical goals like organization and staying on track with school. Through all of it, Meghan encouraged me and rooted for me every step of the way. I consistently left sessions feeling more grounded, understood, and capable. I feel more in control of my life and my peace because of the work we did together.”
We'll have a brief phone call to discuss what brings you to therapy and determine if we're a good fit for each other.
Our initial meeting focuses on getting to know you—your history, your goals, and what you're hoping to get from therapy.
We'll meet regularly (typically weekly) to work toward your goals, adjusting our approach as needed along the way.
Together, we'll celebrate your progress and build skills you can carry with you long after therapy ends.
Yes! I offer both in-person sessions in the Northern Virginia area and secure virtual sessions via telehealth. Many clients appreciate the flexibility of online therapy, and research shows it can be just as effective as in-person sessions.
Individual therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes. The initial intake session may run slightly longer as we get to know each other and discuss your goals.
Most clients start with weekly sessions, which allows for continuity and momentum in our work together. As you progress, we can discuss moving to biweekly sessions if appropriate.
I am happy to provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. Many PPO plans offer partial reimbursement for therapy services. I recommend contacting your insurance provider to understand your out-of-network benefits.
That's completely okay! Many of my clients are new to therapy. I'll walk you through everything, and we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. There's no pressure—this is your space.
The therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in successful therapy. That's why I offer a free consultation call—so we can both get a sense of whether we'd work well together. Trust your gut!
Taking the first step can feel vulnerable, but you've already done the hard part by being here. I'd love to hear from you.
